BERLIN (TICKER) -- Peter Marshall broke his own world record in the 100-meter backstroke during Saturday's World Cup swimming meet.
The American posted a time of 49.64 seconds, besting his record of 49.94 established on Tuesday in Stockholm.
The 26-year-old didn't qualify for the Beijing Olympics and had planned to retire following this event, but indicated after the meet that he may be reconsidering those plans.
